Hello friends of Wak Shack Salon,
We are currently casting hair models for next Wednesdays, August 25th for a “ Red Vixen Color and Cut”. You will need to have brown hair, and wanting to go red, also you will have to want a different type of haircut than you already have, so basically it will be a fabulous and glamorous change. We’ll be shooting a video for an online show called “Hot in My Salon” for AOL Online while you are in the salon getting serviced, so you will have to be willing to sign a release form. There will be absolutely no charge for the hair, you would just have to commit to spending 4hrs of your time in the salon, from 12-4pm. -Below are a few pictures of the type of tones of red we are looking to create. More of a plum, violet, cherry color as oppose to orange toned reds.

It’s prom time once again, and we love having our young clients come in for some fancy up-do’s. Veronica came in last week to get her hair done with Emily for her prom, and it came out looking marvelous, darling, just marvelous!
Veronica had a lot of hair, and really long down to her lower back… it was a bit more work for Emily, but she’s always down for a challenge. The pictures are a bit dark to show all the detail on the hair, but the up-do was these beautiful finger waves in the front, and an intricate low side bun.

Last week a few of us Wak Shackers attended an 80’s prom themed party hosted by Yelp for their Elite Yelpers at the Berkeley Marina Doubletree Hotel. We set up a “Get Banged” booth, where guest can stop by to get their hair done 80’s style, it was a great success! Check out the awesome mood board our crafty receptionist Breezy made for the event, and some photos of the party…

A few weeks ago one of our stylists Emily worked on a wedding photo shoot at Pacheco Ranch in the beautiful Napa Valley. One of Emily’s regular clients and friend , Zoe Lonergan was the photographer and the images came out looking lovely.

Wak Shack Salon is doing our part to help save the planet one haircut at a time. We have recently partnered with an organization called “Matter of Trust”, We are saving hair clippings which are then made into mats or tubes that soak up oil from the ocean.
